Dear Corinna,

We would like to inform you about our upcoming tournament “Chess To Remember” which will be held on September 27, 2015. The purpose of this tournament is to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide while bringing all chess lovers together under the same roof.

The tournament will be rapid style with 25 min. + 5 sec. time control. There will be a total of $2500 in prizes and trophies.

2012 TDSB Team Champions

NM Joey Zhong is participating in the World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2015 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from August 19 to August 29, 2015.
Joey was a Seneca Hill Public School and Saturday chess program student and is presently in UTS. He had been a school team member for multiple years. Joey has achieved the National Master title in 2014. He is now our supply teacher.
We are happy to present $100 scholarship to Joey and we wish him all the best in the World Youth Olympiad.

Sunday Chess Tournaments for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students.
Our regular location in North York is having some renovations in the summer. We will run the tournaments in Markham in July and August.
 
Location (July and August 2015): Trinity Montessori School, 9221 Woodbine Avenue, Markham L3R 0K1
 
Dates: July 12, 19 and 26; August 9, 16 and 23. Players can come to any one or multiple tournaments.
 
Time: Games start at 2:00 and usually last for 2 to 3 hours.
Section A and B – CFC regular rated. Longer games – more experienced players
Section C – CMA rated. Shorter games – beginners
Fee: $15 per Sunday or $100 for any 10 Sundays or $35 per CFC tournament.
Prizes: Trophies, medals and ribbons.
Refreshments: Snacks and drinks are provided.
Onsite registration accepted for Section C:  1:40-1:50

1st Runner up: Angus, Raymond, Julia, Daniel
First team was from Quebec, we were first from Ontario!
Max, Justin F, Vanessa and Ada were also representing Ontario.

Seneca Hill Alumni in J. B. Tyrell (Daniel, Cindy and Yikang) came first in the K-9 section.
Girls section
Top girls Angela (G.4) and Joey (G.6) played for the school team.
Alumni Isamel came first in G.5.
