Happy Mother’s Day!
Mom, thank you for bringing me to such a great chess event!

Today GM Eric Hansen and GM Robin van Kampen hosted two Blindfold Simuls at Seneca Hill Chess Club.

The events drew 50 parents and players.

Each of GMs played 6 boards without seeing the boards. Here are Robins’s opponents.

The participants worked in groups of 3 to 5. Here are Eric’s opponents.

Every group worked hard…….

….and tried …….

…….and tried to beat the GM.

They took turns to tell the GM their move……

…….and waited for the GM’s move.

Did you hear me?

Are you in trouble?

Sean and his students Leo, Austin and Peter beat the GM!

Every winner won a trophy!

This groups of 4 second graders played very well. The GM said, with enough time, they had the chance to win. So Jeffrey, Kousihan, Max and Zack were also awarded trophies.

Kenneth won a free chess lesson given by GM Eric Hansen.

Benjamin won a free chess lesson from GM Robin van Kampen.

We were happy to raise $530 for the GMs’ next international tournament (PanAm Championship).

…..and we all enjoyed the event! 🙂
