2019 Seneca Hill OCC Qualifier

These two OCC qualifiers are Seneca Hill Grand Prix events. Grand Prix details here.
Who: Student K to G.12 and open. Sections may be combined if less than 12 players.
Options of section: (A) the student’s school grade or (B) Elite.
Elite section is for (likely) pre-qualified players (announced by CMA in January) who want the challenge and who want to win OCC FREE ENTRY. There is 1 bonus point for GP computation. Maximum score of the tournament is 5.
When: Saturday, December 8, 2018
Where: St. Timothy Catholic School, 25 Rochelle Crescent, North York, ON M2J 1Y3 Map
Format: 5 round Swiss pairings. Time controls: 25 minutes per player.
Schedule: 1st round 12:00, 2nd round 1:00, 3rd – 2:00, 4th – 3:00 and 5th – 4:00 or earlier. Default time is 25 minutes. Awards after round 5.
If a player doesn’t show up at the start time of the first round (12:00), the clock will be started. The game will be rated. If the player doesn’t show up at the end of the first round, he/she will be withdrawn from the tournament.
Rating: Rated by Chess’n Math Association – www.chess-math.org
Prizes: Trophy for 1st, medal for 2nd and 3rd in each or combined section.
Tie-breakers for trophies and medals.
(1) Head to head and (2) Performance of Opposition
Qualifier: 1 out of 10 players per section will be qualified to OCC 2019 (Sunday, April 14).
Grand Prix – Details
In GP1 to 5, players score 2.5, 3, 3.5 will receive $5 Grand Prix money and 4, 4.5, 5 will receive $10 Grand Prix money. This money can be used to pay for any Seneca Hill Grand Prix tournaments in 2018-2019. We accept cash or e-transfer only if you are using this money. To see your GP money balance, please click here. Free OCC Entries!
There is one Free OCC Entries out of 4 players in the Elite section.
Plus:
All players qualified through Seneca Hill Chess in the grade sections will be automatically entered into a draw (after January 31) for FREE OCC Entries ($65 value each).
At least 5 free entries for the grade sections are guaranteed by our sponsors.
The winners have to complete all rounds in OCC 2019 in order to claim the prize in cash.
