Our Powerhouse
18 of our players played in the TDSB Chess Championship – north quadrant qualifier today (March 21, 2014).
Congrats to all the players, they all did a fantastic job. Both our primary and junior teams came first and advanced to the city finals.
Some highlights:
Although David got a jet lag, he was still doing fine. Alina (alternate) got the chance to play 2 games for David, and she won both.
Yikang beat the first board of Cummer Valley who rated 1481.
Our first junior team won 4.5-0.5 against Cummer Valley, which has an average rating of about 1300!
Many of us (too many to mention) won all the games.
What I like most is that everyone showed good chess manner and team spirit!
