Hello Parents and Students of Seneca Hill Chess Club, Hillcrest Chess Club, and Oriole Chess Club. My name is Kyle and I have been playing chess at Seneca Hill for 6 years. During these years, I have learned a lot from here. It has positively benefited my life and I hope it benefits your child’s life as well.
I decided to write Corrina a letter of thanks, and here it is.
Dear Corrina,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience the game of chess. The opportunity of playing chess has influenced my life a great deal. I would have probably been an entirely different person.
Chess has given and taught me many things. Chess has raised my levels of concentration and awareness. I now notice many things I wouldn’t have noticed before. I am also achieving many of my goals. Chess has helped me understand that there is a lot of competition in the world. Having this experience may have been a life-changing event for me and I have you to thank for it.
Chess has been a huge part of my life. I really appreciate that you brought chess to Seneca Hill. Without chess, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Chess has really shaped me.
Sincerely,
Kyle
Hi Kyle, It’s my pleasure to have you in the chess club for 6 years. Even I don’t play, just organize, watch and listen to the lessons sometimes, I found what you wrote was so true not only to the students, but also to myself! Definitely chess training is also a life skill training. It should benefit any child in many aspects. Best wishes to your new journey at UTS!
Corinna
